08:00 - 09:00 Hotel Pick-up
At the appointed time In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Suzhou in a comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle.
09:00 - 12:00 Drive to Suzhou & Master of the Nets Garden
After a 2-hour drive, you will reach Suzhou, a garden city featuring peaceful streets meandering along the canal and traditional buildings. You will first visit the Master of the Nets Garden, a classical garden built 800 years ago in a typical Suzhou-style garden design, which is well-known in China.
12:00 - 13:30 Shantang Street & Lunch Break
Then a 20-minute drive will bring you to Shantang Street, an ancient street that dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). You will see crowds of traditional architecture, featured restaurants, and shops. You will have one hour free here for lunch at your own expense. It is a good chance to taste authentic Chinese food and snacks. Your guide will be happy to give you helpful advice.
13:30 - 16:30 Drive to Visit Tongli Water Town
Next, you will have a half-hour ride to Tongli Town, an iconic ancient water town in southern China. This 1000-year-old town is not only well-preserved but also lively. You will see the daily life of local people here and might meet some people who perform Kun opera or Suzhou Pingtan. You will also take a local featured sculling boat ride to enjoy the landscape along the river. The Retreat Garden in the town will also be a wonder. Your guide will show you the elegant designs inside and tell you about their history.
16:30 - 18:00 Drive back to Shanghai
After the visit to Tongli Town, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Shanghai.
