Welcome to Suzhou! Today we will have a side trip to the suburb area of the city to spend a leisure time at Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, which is the No.1 Water Town of China.
You will be given a comfortable drive (about 1.5 hours) to the Zhouzhuang Town from your self-booked hotel in downtown Suzhou or the train station at the appointed time. With the company of our guide, you will loiter around the stone-paved lanes to visit some traditional residences and courtyards. When the visit to Zhouzhuang Water Town is over, the driver will transfer you back to the downtown area.
The next destination is Panmen Scenic Area. It is an interesting huge garden, which encompasses many historic features. Its surrounding area of canals, bridges and temples adds up to a very pleasant place to spend your time.
After the visits, you will be delivered to the hotel in Suzhou to have some rest, or the train station to catch your leaving train.

Tour Zhouzhuang Ancient Town
Surrounded by water, Zhouzhuang blends the unsophisticated residential houses, paved narrow lanes, stone bridges and some historical sites. Besides of experiencing the folk culture, it is suggested that you pay a visit to Shen House, Milou Tower and Chengxu Taoist Temple. Shen House is the former residence of Shen Wansan, who was the richest businessman in the 14th century of the early Ming Dynasty. The two-storey wooden Milou Tower once was a popular restaurant where some noted literators always visited.
Panmen Scenic Area
Lying to the southwest of Suzhou, Panmen Scenic Area is well maintained with old monuments, pagoda and beautiful landscapes all around. Among them, the three main attractions are Ruiguang Pagoda, Pan Men City Gate and Wumen Bridge. You can climb up to the top of the pagoda and take a picture of the whole city.
