1-day Private Luoyang Peony Culture Festival Tour

The Peony Culture Festival in Luoyang is hosted each year (1-25 April) according to the flowering period. If you are visiting the city during April, why not also explore the beauty of the peony in Luoyang with us? In the morning, you will meet the professional guide and driver at the lobby of your hotel, or at Luoyang Railway Station. After picking you up, we will take you to Longmen Grottoes by a comfortable ride.

The Longmen Grottes, located along the banks of the Luo River, are unmissable simply due to the sheer limestone cliffs. The statues themselves here display different sizes ranging from the giant statue of the Vairocana Buddha in Fengxian Temple to the tiny images of Buddha in Wanfo Cave. Even before you enter the grottoes, the essence of the Buddhism and the ingenious stone carving of ancient artisans will captivate you.

After lunch, we will attend the Peony Culture Festival, hosted amongst one of the various gardens, to admire the blooming flowers. This part is the essential part of this tour. Regarded as the 'queen of flowers, the graceful peonies attract many tourists each year. We will visit a peony garden from the following three parks according to the flowering period.

Shenzhou Peony Garden, covering an area of 400,000 square meters (478,000 square yards), is a palatial park in the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and is filled with more than 1,000 species of peonies. The other option, the National Peony Garden is particularly famous for a peony tree planted more than 1,000 years ago.

When your visit to the peony garden is over, we will escort you back to the hotel, or Luoyang Railway Station and see you off.
