Sichuan Cuisine Museum

Located in the ancient town of Pixian County, the museum is an extraordinary place mainly composed of six exhibition halls including collection room, interactive room, tea tasting lounge, Kitchen God Temple, cooking tools exhibition hall, and Sichuan cuisine ingredients display room.

There are more than 3,000 pieces of diet household utensils from the Warring States (475 - 221 BC) till now on display in the museum, including boilers, bowls, drinking vessels, dishes, and tea wares. You can see books and sketches about the Sichuan cuisine collected there as well. Paying a visit to the Sichuan Cuisine Museum can be an impressive experience for it will provide you an opportunity to learn to cook the authentic Sichuan cuisine, such as Kung Pao Chicken and Ma Po Tofu, under the directions of experienced chefs in the interactive room.

Collection of ancient: Visitors can visit the museum's collection of Sichuan antiques.

Interactive: The audience can watch the chef demonstrate the cooking skills of Sichuan cuisine, taste authentic Sichuan cuisine and experience the cooking of Sichuan cuisine.

Tea tasting: Tourists can feel the tea culture of Sichuan people and understand the leisure state of Sichuan people.

Kitchen God Temple offerings: During the Chengdu International Food Tourism Festival and the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, there will be activities to worship the king of dates (including Nuo opera performance, lion dance performance, gong and drum performance, sacrifice rite with wearing the ancient costume, offering incense and praying for good luck, and grabbing products).

Traditional craft production demonstration: The raw material exhibition area will show the traditional craft (making Pixian bean paste, pickles, making zongzi, making preserved eggs, making moon cakes, etc.).

The museum is supposed to be alive. The Sichuan Cuisine Museum allows us to know, understand and love Sichuan cuisine through the novel participatory tourism mode of "cook with entertainment".
